An Inconvenient Truth

This movie is not an extreme, alarmist bell going off, like some critics (i.e.,the Bush Administration) have claimed. In fact it's more like a wake up call and it's telling us we need to stop hitting the snooze button and get up and do something!
Al Gore is actually engaging, personable, and even funny at times considering the seriousness of the subject. The movie concisely describes the state of our planet and the potential devastation we could face if we continue to ignore the situation. I like how he clearly states this isn't just a political issue but a moral one as well.
There was a flyer on a table listing 10 things you can do to help stop global warming. In case you don't get a chance to see the film I've listed them here:
- Change a light: replace one regular bulb with a compact fluorescent
- Drive less: you'll save one pound of carbon monoxide for every mile
- Recycle more
- Check your tires: keep tires properly inflated to get more mpg
- Use less hot water
- Avoid products with lots of packaging
- Adjust your thermostat
- Plant a tree
- Be part of the solution
