the Think chair

I had to write about this as I have an unusual hobby.  Some people collect stamps I collect chairs.  I like to go to my favorite salvage yard and scavenge for ones that people have thrown out.  I of course, clean them up and refinish them.  I used to sell them, but after all the work I put into making them like new again I couldn't part with my "pets".  So when I received some information regarding this chair I couldn't resist.  This chair has in fact for the first time made me consider starting a wish list on this site! 

Time magazine had once named the iconic Eames Lounge Chair Wood as the best design of the 20th century, as a designer, I can attest it's definitely the most famous chair, but there seems to be a new kid on the block who might challenge Eames' title.  The Think chair by Steelcase is ergonomic and GREEN.  This chair is not made from molded plywood as the Eames instead it is constructed from aluminum and steel.  What I like best about this design is the sleek look.  It would work well in just about any office environment, for once generic is goode.  It's a modern chair without looking stereotypically modern (you know what I mean, everyone seems to equate modern with mid century)This chair was also one of the first products to receive the "Cradle to Cradle" certification, 99% of it can be recycled, 44% of it comes from recycled materials, no glues were used to assemble it, and it's lightweight!  Wow - all this in just a chair.  Let all your Chairmen/women, committee chairs, Board chairs know there is a new chair in town!
