Who Killed the Electric Car?

I will be going to see this soon:  Who Killed the Electric Car? Has anyone see it already?  A friend sent this to me.  Visit this site, it has lots of good info and facts about these plug-in-go cars.  I can't believe 100 years ago there were more electric cars on the road than gas!

There are alternatives out there now in regards to fuel (e.g. Ethanol, flex-fuel, E85) but don't be fooled.  Do your research first as I did.  It takes more energy to produce Ethanol (it's derived from corn), than it could ever generate; which is contradictory to the whole point!!!!  I wrote an article for Bellaonline.com examining both sides of the Ethanol coin.  I did not state my opinion in the story as I tried to stay unbiased, but my feeling is corn is a goode food not fuel.

An Inconvenient Truth

This movie is not an extreme, alarmist bell going off, like some critics (i.e.,the Bush Administration) have claimed.  In fact it's more like a wake up call and it's telling us we need to stop hitting the snooze button and get up and do something!

Al Gore is actually engaging, personable, and even funny at times considering the seriousness of the subject.  The movie concisely describes the state of our planet and the potential devastation we could face if we continue to ignore the situation.  I like how he clearly states this isn't just a political issue but a moral one as well.

There was a flyer on a table listing 10 things you can do to help stop global warming.  In case you don't get a chance to see the film I've listed them here:

• Change a light:  replace one regular bulb with a compact fluorescent
• Drive less:  you'll save one pound of carbon monoxide for every mile
• Recycle more
• Check your tires:  keep tires properly inflated to get more mpg
• Use less hot water
• Avoid products with lots of packaging
• Adjust your thermostat
• Plant a tree
• Be part of the solution
